Poker Magazines
Poker Magazines By B. Butler With the massive influx of poker popularity derived from the World Series of Poker ESPN broadcasts and then win of common man players like Chris Moneymaker and Jamie Gold, there has likewise been an explosion of poker-related publications available for the perceptive poker player who enjoys reading about the game. Perhaps the original and best-known poker magazine is still CardPlayer magazine, but beyond that there are many other fine poker magazines worth checking out. Some such magazines include: Bluff Magazine, All-In Magazine, Deal Magazine, Poker Pro and Casino Player. New titles seem to appear every couple months, each with new kinds of info that can both expand your thinking on the game and entertain. In most magazines you’ll find columns by popular pros who shed insight into different kinds of poker plays and poker tips. Other columns tend to include more fundamental information such as information on tactics like check raising, the semi-bluff, and so on. Other magazines focus more on poker news related topics, including directories of where and when all the major live poker tournaments are going down, and who took down the bigger purses and prizes. Other common features in most card magazines include poker literature, poker action quizzes, photo galleries and book reviews, etc.
