The Hottest Trends in Watches

Trends in the watch industry are often used to track how well the economy is doing. Black is the hottest thing in watches right now and most people would agree that is the reason. I am talking about black on black people. Black face and black dial, sleek and sexy for sure.

Most people now love the black on black. However wearing a black watch some years ago might have given people the impression that you were in the military or just trying to be James Bond. Slowly acceptance of all black watches has come around and they have started to filter into the mainstream of fashion.

Black timepieces are often presented in lustrous titanium or stainless steel cases and are PVD coated. PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition. PVD was used first in the metals industry, being founded in the 1960’s this technology has been around for a long time. Some black watches are now considered collector’s items especially the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and Paneri PAM 004.

No cause for alarm though. Black isn’t the color that is hot in the watch world. Women have been showing some love for pink and yellow watches right now too. So don’t think that we are only looking out for the men on this one ladies.
