New Distribution Centre to Help Pegler Improve its Services

The Pegler Yorkshire Group has completed the first phase of the project of development of offices and warehouses in the South Yorkshire region. The project is to cost the Group about £7m. The new distribution centre is coming up in the Dearne Valley near Brookfields Park in Rotherham. The company has an expertise in the production of valves, taps, and fittings, and with this hub coming up in South Yorkshire, the company has reinforced its commitment towards the region.

Ian Howarth, financial director of the company, said that with the steelwork structure for the centre in place, it is now easy for people in the area to visualize the real structure nearing completion. He went on to add that the business location of this hub would provide Pegler easy access to its customers.

The Group has let an area of about 104,000 sq ft for its office and warehouses in the building. The move will ensure that it looks after its other warehouses located in Doncaster and Barnsley and start consolidating them by the start of 2010.

The hub is expected to be ready for renting and other uses by February 2010, but its warehouse machinery is slated to be finished even earlier by the end of this year.

Apart from the Pegler Group, other companies like Maplin Electronics, Garnett Dickinson, and Next Plc. have also rented desk space in the site under construction. The

site is being managed by Lambert Smith Hampton and Knight Fran.
