Helpful Anti-Ageing Tips
No one wants to grow old but even though ageing is a normal process, there are ways in which we can slow down the ageing process and live better, quality lives. Let’s explore a few ways…
From research on anti aging amassed over the years, it appears that diet is one of the most effective ways to look and feel younger. Eating well, that is adding more fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet, is the key to looking younger and may increase your chances of living a longer life. Apples, blueberries, bananas, orange juice, broccoli, sweet potatoes, yams, oats, and all sorts of nuts are great ways to add nutrition into your diet and help slow down the ageing process. And, a daily multi-vitamin, with its anti-oxidant features is a good way to keep your body in good shape and slow down ageing.
Another way to slow down ageing is to cut back on salt. Instead of applying salt to our foods, try using herbs and spices to flavor your food. There are many such items on the market and by using these alternatives instead of salt, you will lower your blood pressure.
And, whenever possible, cut back on refined sugar. Sugar is found in cakes, cookies, doughnuts and be watchful for bad “fats” found in processed foods. In addition, be careful of the amount and selection of carbohydrates. Good carbohydrates can be found in whole grain bread, sweet potatoes and brown rice. Beans and cereals are two other good carbohydrate choices. Bad carbohydrates are found in doughnuts, cakes, cookies, pies, etc.
We all know it’s important to cut back on red meats and greasy foods but for wonderful and more healthy alternatives, eat more white meat like chicken and turkey and fish. Salmon, mackerel and sardines are also wonderful sources of Omega-3 and help to maintain a healthy heart.
In addition, avoid at all costs, full fat dairy produce like whole milk, ice cream, and cheese. Instead, try low fat cheese, milk and butter. Drink plenty of water; the usual amount for most is six to eight glasses. And, remember that water keeps the body well regulated, especially the body’s main organs and skin and that extra moisture will work wonders creating a younger and healthier looking bodyinside and out!
Other ways where one can slow down the aging process is to get plenty of daily exercise, stay out of the sun and when you’re in the sun, use plenty of sunscreen and wear cover-up clothing. Be sure and put sunscreen on thirty minutes before sun exposure. And, when it comes to the face; be it man or womanuse plenty of moisturizers and put it on shortly after you’ve washed your face.
Another vital step to in slowing the ageing process is to take good care of your teeth! Having good oral hygiene not only makes you look younger but helps to build strong gums and teeth that helps to resist disease and promote healing.
